A PromiseA Poem by B. MaaitahLong time no write!I’ve searched through stars and shifting skies, Through lifetimes veiled in love’s disguise, I walked through dreams I once knew Yet each step, walked me back to you Not fate, not chance, but something more, A promise whispered long before, Before the breath, before the name, I knew your fire, I felt your flame. You are not mine to hold nor tame, Nor I to you, we are more the same. Two mirrors made to face and grow, To dance through light, to bend.. to glow. I do not vow a tranquil road, But one where truth is calmly showed. Where wounds are met with gentle grace, And silence holds a soft embrace.. I’ll love you through the days undone, Through all your moons, through every sun. In change, in stillness, joy, and ache, In every vow our souls will make. I’ll stand beside you, brave and bare, When life is more than we can bear. And should you rise, or should you fall, My arms will catch you through it all. For love like this does not grow old It deepens, softens, turns to gold. A flame that flickers but won’t die, A thread that runs beneath our sky. And shall I lose you in the storm, In shadowed time or shifting form, I’ll seek you out, I’ll always do. In every life, In every time I’ll forever choose.. No other.. I’ll forever choose you. © 2025 B. MaaitahReviews
