Trapped.

Trapped.

A Poem by Hunter Zabbai
"

Everyday life.

"

My jaw aches.

Orange trident and monster cafe.

I stay up late, and grind my teeth.

What I really need is some sleep.

Maybe I'll get skinny.

I mean, I don't have to eat.

I'll just stay up with this speed.

What I really need is some sleep.

Who keeps hitting rewind?

Who keeps pressing the repeat button?

I'm really tired of staying up.

What I really need is some sleep.

I dreamt I couldn't dream once.

It didn't work out.

I want to yell, and scream, and shout.

What I really need is some sleep.

I wish these words would jump off of the page.

And enter your shallow head.

Maybe, then, you'd have a f*****g clue.

Does it make sense yet?

My legs ache.

Maybe the pain will go away.

I think I need another line.

What I really need is some sleep.

I know the idea of insomnia all too well. And you capture the repetitiveness and mindless banter of it very well here.
I love the structure, and almost all of the lines just jump off the page [computer screen] at me.
Fantastic!!
