Generation Screwed

Generation Screwed

A Poem by Hunter Zabbai

(....
there is no change without action, only cause stimulates reaction,
the procreation of a generation, spread across the entire nation,
institutionalized fear, conformity, whether dorm rooms or M.T.V,
but there are those who see, see beyond their magic wand,
and there are those who speak, telling others of the world beyond,
and there are those who think, for themselves and beyond this realm.

but ultimately, it's those of us that do, those of us who
get up off our asses, ditch the classes, say welcome to the masses,
get educated, get faded, who go out and show the world
we're not just a by-product of what they created.
we are our own being. we all have our own meaning.
No more suffering or needing, no more pointless bleeding.

If you agree, that any of this is true
Then you are a part of the Generation Screwed...)

This is the call to the Generation Screwed
This is the call to the Generation Screwed
This is the call to the Generation Screwed
This is the call to the Generation Screwed

Who have their own opinions from the own point of view
Well History repeats itself, so what you gonna do?
Aren't we all people just wearing different shoes?

Overly optimistic
About this world so twisted
Your life's too quick for you to miss it
By believing the lies that are misprinted

But if you feel like you've had enough
Don't you think it's time to stand up? And say,

"This is the voice of the Generation Screwed
They already took it all, we got nothing more to lose
You tell us that we're lazy, well here's the crazy truth
When you send us off to your war, who will be fighting for you?

Struggling through another work week
To afford my college classes, man I can't sleep
Dollar menu's and value sized eating like I'm cheap
if this is our reality, no wonder our voice is weak

So if your life is starting to look bleak
Come join the people out on the streets, yeah

"
We are the people of the Generation Screwed
We're not just kid's we've got something more to prove
We won't dissappear like we're a permanent bruise
And we'll scream at the world to not be afraid of the truth! "
