Something Missing

When you are there for people but the return seems to slip away leaving you with nothing left but yourself.

I have touched so many people's lives

Sat and listened without fail or denies

Loved a million hearts without fail

Sent my words to memory on a sail

Given away everything I slowly made

Never looking back and never stayed

I let them grow and find their peace

Just wondered off alone in my release

Now I look back and in wonder sleeps

What I have done that no one keeps

My memory alive and heart on fire

I'm lost now, alone with no desire

With no accomplishments to show

With no medals or awards, I know

Just me willing to give a bit more

For a love and happiness I swore
