1:50 a.m.

BETWEEN SHADOWS & LIGHT

Time ticks away

though the ridged hands
seem to fight the urge,
minutes slowly disappear.

Amongst the dark,
silently counting life,
my body lays still,
breathing in rhythm.

Mind drifting in-between
reality and dreams,
blurring all the lines,
deprived of sleep.

I'm an old soul, I guess. I still prefer my pen. I'm a pen snob, actually lol. I like a good pen. In my manic chicken scratch, since I only have to be able to read it, I can cross out and rearrange it and draw arrows, doodles, and whatnots.
