Mirror’s Edge

Mirror’s Edge

A Poem by Curly Grace

I stare into the glass

and do not recognize

the one who looks back.

She is familiar and strange,

fragile and unyielding,

a map of scars

and unspoken truths.

I trace the lines of her face,

wondering where she ends

and I begin.

The reflection trembles

under my gaze,

and I remember:

identity is never whole,

but always enough.

Would be good to.love a life where folk have the gumption to speak their mind rather than bottling up years and years of never said truths.
As a teenager I lived a part lie to fit in, Frank far to much to hide my shyness. Now, 60+ years old I give not two hoots what folk think of me as long as my family and friends love me for who/what I am. As for mirrors, they are given the widest of wife berths :))

It's amazing how writers can all go down the same roads and come back with something beautiful and new. This reflection is excellent!
