Wells of You

Wells of You

A Poem by Curly Grace

His eyes

celestial, distant, intimate

pulling dreams from the sky

leaving them suspended

between us

They are wells of emotion

deep, unending

flooding quiet corners of my heart

once frozen, now stirred

Dark as ink spilled across paper

they write stories on my mind

mapping chapters

I did not know I longed to read

Fires dance in their gaze

tracing my body in invisible lines

lighting the marrow

taking glimpses of the soul beneath

Music hums in those eyes

lullabies of passion

that unmake and remake me

leaving me mistress and surrender

And water flows there too

cool, salt, endless

quenching a thirst

I had not known I carried
