Orbit of His Smile

Orbit of His Smile

A Poem by Curly Grace

It curves like a secret folding into itself,

quiet, knowing, a soft spark

that catches the edges of my chest

and pulls me closer.

A quick inhale

a flash of light between shadows

and I am lost again in the orbit of his smile.

Tides of unspoken things rise from calm’s ruins

and I am lost again in the orbit of his smile.

A crescent moon hanging low

over the fragments of my calm

pulling tides of unspoken things

from the deep

where only I dare follow.

He knows the secret places in me

and I stumble willingly into the orbit of his smile.

Each facet, each angle

a spark I cannot hold

lost, and found, and lost again in his smile.

A flash of light between shadows

a quick inhale

And I am lost again

in the orbit of his smile.
