Psyche

Psyche

A Poem by Curly Grace

I loved him unseen.

That was my faith.

I reached for light
and lost him.

That was my undoing.

So I walked through silence,
through tasks that scraped the bone,
through doubt that tasted like ash.

I did not stop loving.

That was my power.

When he returned,
I was no longer the girl who waited in the dark.

I was the soul
large enough
to stand beside a god.

And love,
endured,
made me divine.

Sometimes it is only coming through the shadows do we see and understand the light. While I do not believe in a "divine", I found a tenderness in your poem and how it is possible to fall and get up stronger. Thanks for sharing, Curly Grace.
