Near in the Shadows

Near in the Shadows

A Poem by Curly Grace

In the quiet room
where hope feels thin
I sit
with a heavy heart

And yet
a presence rises
steady
warm
holding me

Not distant
Not imagined
Real
Holding
Near

God leans close
to the crushed
to the weary
to the shattered

Your tears are known
Your silence heard
Your soul carried

Through dark
Through endless dark

Even here
Even now

You are not alone
You are not abandoned

Soft as mercy
Strong as love

Held
Held
Held

And still
Held

"....I shall fear no evil, for thy art with me..." The message I get from this is strictly biblical. Yes, we are not alone. We are not abandoned.
