Never-Ending Dandelions

Never-Ending Dandelions

A Poem by Curly Grace
"

"
A dandelion
is a weed
looking harmless
even beautiful.
Still a weed
overtaking the grass
choking out
all other life.

Memories of you
are dandelions
spreading rapidly
overpowering my mind.
Taking root in all
facets of my brain
weeding my garden always
with every breath I take
you still live in me.

When I see dandelions
I think of you
and how deeply rooted
you are in me.

Weeds have a habit of growing rampant in the garden, I can understand the metaphor here. It sounds as though every aspect of the speaker’s life was dominated by another. Weeds are deep rooted and difficult though not impossible to remove. I like your 2011 poem Curly.

And you found a way to make the dandelion a beautiful and sad allegory to linger on..

I can identify with this one, as I've had one dandelion on my mind for the longest time. Nicely done. ~Jim

Nice imagery for an obsessive relationship - 'nothing is forgotten or forgiven'. Really Excellent ✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️
