Still

Still

A Poem by Curly Grace

I keep thinking
about the way you look at me,
like you are holding back.

I wonder
how long restraint would last
if I leaned in closer,

if I let my fingers rest
where they don’t quite belong

and then
pulled away.

I like the tension in you,
the way you hold yourself
still.

I like knowing
I could undo it
slowly,
without rushing.

Dear Grace
A stunning poem of pull and push...when someone is holding back, we try to encourage them in a tender way to join us...not to be afraid... to love, to lust, to comfort... your words perfectly portray this intimate piece.... Thank you for sharing...
Warmly, B

Hmmm...Not sure I agree with the no italics (the font chosen is a part of the art it holds)...but respect it. The poem is nice. First date? I enjoy the confidence in this one.

This is good. If you ever want to try to get it published, I suggest ridding the italics, though. Just send it straight in 12 point Times New Roman.

Of course, and thank you. The "this is good" was a lovely surprise I’ll gladly take. I respect you.. read more
Almost from the sly peripheral you keep us guessing and with a sudden word and glance we are at your mercy. Once again you top the list… congratulations on what could only be the subtle in.

Thank you, Perdition. I’d handle that kind of mercy with care… and a little spark. ;)
Coming off a little sociopathic today Curly.

Only on Mondays... The rest of the week I’m delightful lol ;) wink
The slow understanding of a partner, the act of two souls intertwining; a soft love. Beautifully written.

Thank you, Kaya. I’m grateful you felt the softness in it. That means a lot.
