What Matters Most

What Matters Most

A Poem by Fra/c/ture

The treasures I own

I've dug up and discovered like

tiny shining rounds of sea glass

glimmering through the mud of

cardboard covers and printer's ink,

and sifted through the sieve of

Bukowski's poetry,

books whose brilliant titles

far outstrip the words inside, and

maybe that's the point--

all the drinking and f*****g and

fighting, the dichotomy of

Burning in Water, Drowning in Flame

and the sobering truth that

What Matters Most Is

How Well You Walk

Through The Fire.

Barefoot I hope, I'm certain you can do it...intriquing write...very enjoyable - interesting to find the title or cover far outreaches the contents. Nice way of putting it. Thank you.
