Masks

Masks

A Poem by Light
"

the title says it all

"

December (2010)

A mask by day
And face by night

Oh wretched thing
That hides my being,
Lost in known disguise.
I ador(n)e this mask,
An imaginary visage,
Living daylight's lie.

Oh lonely nights
Where it's only I.
My radiant face;
Illuminous light,
This gorgeous thing
That no one sees
Unveiled only for me.

A man without a mask;
Can such a curse be?
Loneliness is agony;
My mask remains with me.

this mask is just an illusion that we create for ourselves...an illusion that helps us bury those sad and lonely moments that are now a part of us...i am not sure if its right to disilluion oneself and face whats behind the mask...it may be really scary and for all that life is worth is happiness..infinite happiness...so why take off the mask and watch happiness flow away like sand in an hourglass...maybe the mask will make its way to our souls and absorb the loneliness that exist in that dark corner of our heart.
