Open Eyes

Open Eyes

A Poem by Breana Seabrooks

I wish that one day
I'll open my eyes.
No longer will I see
My heart's demise.
No longer will I
Have to wear a disguise.
My choices
Will not be unwise.
No one will be able
To decriminalize
Me and the things I do.
I am done
With all my lies.
But now I see
That those bright blue skies,
Are full of optimize,
That no one can disguise.

The phrasing is awesome. I love writing about independence, its something everyone should be able to relate to or strive for. Great.
