The Saddest Greenhouse
A Poem by Brett Hernan
Two men on deck-chairs.
Sitting upon an iceberg.
One handles a whiskey glass.
The other stares into the waves.
Taking advantage,
Rationally one
Ice pick stabs
The iceberg
To gain
Ice fresh in his glass.
He says,
"Don't worry! I know how to make water in the middle of a desert!"
Still staring
The other replies,
"Yes. I know, too."

Cutting and deft poem- an allegory tale. Beautifully formed and wtitten. We are all "sitting upon an iceberg" destroying the earth that sustains us- such a brilliant, but sad, analogy. Your eloquent voice is heard...Kudos!
