Chapter 7

A Chapter by Brina

Jace POV

I stepped in front of Liz, and grew stiff as her scent reached my throat. Damnit I really had to go eat soon! I walked to the front desk, looking down at the marble floors beneath me. I looked up as the wooden front desk loomed into my peripheral vision. No one was in sight as I looked behind the desk, wondering where the hell everyone was. I say a little crystal bell on the counter. Like the ones you see in movies at a check out desk at hotels.

I dinged it as a nymph came speeding her way towards me. I could tell she was a Wood Nymph, because she smelled like fresh pine and the nice cool breeze that came with the woods, blasted in my face. I smiled at her, she was obviously new. Her hair ruffled and a blush blossomed on her cheeks. She wasn’t really human, but she was human enough to fear getting bit by my kind.

“Um.. I need the keys for…” as I listed everyone’s name. She looked overwhelmed.

“How funny! You’re all in the same room. Isn’t that a coincidence?” Of course I knew that. I was the reason it was like that. Being a prince had its advantages, also having your dad as king. I saw she was trying to keep the conversation going. I chuckled softly at her attempts.

“Here you go, um... I didn’t catch your name.”

“Oh Jace.”

“Ok then. Jace here are all the keys, you’ll be in room 314 in the second dorm building. Have a nice day! Come back if you need anything.”

“Don’t worry I will. Thank you.” What was I doing?! I was flirting with a nymph, she had to be about 24 or something, but was I really stooping that low to… Stop! No. Not again!

I walked back to the guys handing them their keys. Liz looked at him as she didn’t receive a key.

“We have to talk to the dean about you being here.” Mike answered the thought reached his mind probably. God was that f*****g annoying!

“Hey!” Mike bellowed at me hiding a smirk behind his lips.

“Put a sock in it!”

“Let’s go. We’re in the second building so we should start heading over.”

Mike and Felipe assumed their positions on either side of Liz. I didn’t blame them; she was banging, but… wait, what I am thinking!!! She’s sixteen. Oh god damnit!

Mike scoffed as he read my mind. I sent death glares in his direction. I mean I was only 20 but that wasn’t counting in vampire years.

“So… do any of you a******s have any good music?” Liz sighed, obviously trying to relieve the tension.

“To begin with we’re not a******s. Plus it depends on what music you listen to.” I responded feeling slightly offended by the a*****e comment. I mean yeah, if you got on my bad side I WAS an a*****e. But I choose not to release my ‘feelings’ in a negative way too often. Mike once again laughed at this.

God damnit stop reading my damn mind! I yelled unintentionally.

Mikes hands instantly reached up to his head.

“OWWWWW!!!”

“Serves you right.”

“Anyways, as the a*****e right there was saying,” pointing towards me, “it depends on what type of music you like. Honestly speaking, as much as I hate to say it, Jace has the best taste in music out of all of us.” I smiled in triumph.

“Really?! You seemed like a real hard-a*s!” She said.

Mike burst out laughing as Liz said this.
