Chapter 26

Chapter 26

A Chapter by Brina

Kurt POV

I can say I was honestly shocked when I saw Liz laying there on Iven’s bed , but I knew not to make a big deal, in my thoughts or out loud, because Mike would be pissed, and probably already was, I bet he hated having to act like an adult, since he was such a child himself.

Iven was asleep on my bed, which meant the couch was going to be my bed tonight, which one? Mine or the one in the living room, well if I go to the living room I can play my Xbox for a little while. Okay that’s cool.

Having finished thinking to myself, my plans of action I grabbed a blanket and was about to leave, when I accidentally used my power. I used it occasionally but only never did I see what I saw now.

Wanting to avoid having to see Liz’s past, I had avoided using my ‘gift’ on her like I did on most people, but the strange thing about her aura other than the amount of pain she had suffered, was I saw her future, but not really, just the colors of her future. I saw the colors of her past to be black and white, black for the pain and white for her innocence. Right now I saw browns, grays, blues, and yellow, such a strange mix. Brown for anxiety or maybe she was unsettled, gray for frustration something negative, bad, and strangely blue for relaxation and peacefulness, and finally yellow for bliss.

And then I saw a flicker of purple enter her future, and the present, love. Such a variety of feelings, but the future now held three colors red, purple, and black. Nothing would be easy, from now on, I knew this in my gut of guts, but I also knew I would do anything to keep her safe, I felt such compassion for this young human, but not as anything other than the love for a sibling.

I glanced towards Iven, saw no aura like always, since that was his gift, a lot like Duane’s but more powerful, he had the gift to be invisible, body, mind, soul and whatever the hell else. Only once had I seen his aura, and it was when Mike heard his thoughts about Liz, and I saw that past, and his personality was red for lust, and his future and past are both a sulfur color, destruction, and that was all I got before he blocked us out once again, but it sure did make me curious about his past and if he was who he said he was.

“I’m curious as well,” Mike said from behind me, and I was pulled back into my bedroom, not realizing I had shut my eyes.

I opened my eyes, and blinked a few times, of course Mike knew everything.

“No not everything, only that Liz is in a prophecy of sorts, and in a months time, she will be a one of us,” Mike said, startling more, if that was possible.

“What? She’ll become a vampire? Why, and what prophecy?”

“No not a vampire, and the prophecy her father, Kadin made, the reason he left her in the first place. I know I’m shocked myself to be telling you, but you need to know, and I need you to protect her, from whatever she is keeping from us, I’m afraid it will get her in serious trouble, possibly killed, maybe worse, but you must keep a close eye on her or she may be gone forever.”

“Not a vampire then what? And what ‘grave’ danger?” I asked

“No not Iven, though a probable future threat, no I’m talking about Duane’s brother whoever he is,”

What? That can’t be! He hasn’t been seen for-

“Almost seventeen years, don’t you find it odd that Duane’s brother, whom almost nobody knows about, went missing the day Liz was born?”

“But that means-”

“Yes exactly that,”

“Where could he be?” I asked

“Most likely in the Deep Dark Forest of werewolves, and demons, where Jace always hunts, the place Liz will end up if she is a true human.”

Just like him I knew the risks of humans living in Hell safely were very big, first off they can never return home, secondly if they are too weak, they become mutant half breeds, which we call werewolves. Even though werewolves aren’t what they become. In Hell true werewolves, can go to any shape anytime they please, but human born werewolves change into wolves on a full moon, and the rest of the time, are soul sucking demons. If Duane’s brother was in those woods it meant he was recruiting, it also meant that he had humans, because humans can only go so far into Hell without dieing.

“Correct, I believe that letter Liz will not show us, is a threat, a threat that they hold her friends, and if I’m not mistaken her thoughts tell me Clair and Andy were her ‘best’ friends.”

“Are we going?” I asked ready to fight.

“Yes, but we will leave Felipe, Iven and Liz,”

I nodded agreeing with his choice. “Reed?”

“Yes, and Mr. Grant and a few trusted friends who just arrived on campus.”

“Let’s go” I said smiling “it’s time to kick some a*s.”
