Drowning

Be smart, you said. 

But how? I asked.

Just listen, and you'll be top of the class. 

Be beautiful, you said. 

But how? i asked. 

It's effortless, just relax. 

Be happy, you said.

But how? I asked.

Put your worries to bed, that will dull their power and they won't last.

I was a kid then, and i did what you said.

I listened, i relaxed, and i put my worries to bed.

Now i'm 17 years old, and 

i'm drowning in the depression of growing up.

You never told me how to deal with this when i was a kid, and i need to know how, so i don't mess up.

I really enjoyed this. It's true, no one really tells you how hard it can be as a teenager. God knows I went through my fair share of depression. Hang in there, love! You'll find your way out of the darkness soon enough. Hold onto your words. That's what I did and I found I could make my way out of the darkness as long as I could write about it. xo (:

Everyone finds it would of the depression. I think when you're so unprepared for your teenage years, it's difficult. I mean really we're all unprepared, but we all deal with it very differently. I guess some of us find it harder than others, and wish them away. At least i do.
