Sleepless Nights.

Sleepless Nights.

A Poem by Bullet Soul
"

A poem about the guy who never got the second chance.

"

I’ve walked far, but not far enough

To cover the miles, of this regret

Or of sleepless nights, spent alone

I only tried to speak the words

I’d always held, as the truth

I never meant to whisper them, in someone else’s ear

I hear a phone ringing, in the distance

I wonder if maybe, you can hear it to

The way it rang, when you never answered

Standing on the shore, of a summer love

I thought it could last, but boy was I wrong

Our love went out, with quite a bang

You found out on a Saturday

Of the Fridays I spent with her

Then in a flash, your suitcase was packed

If I would have been sorry, would you have turned around?

Your wrath had me speechless, like a bullet through the wind

But, oh, what I wouldn’t give… to turn that bullet back around

I almost told you I loved you, right then and there

But how could you, have ever believed me?

My summer angel could only fly away, on furious wings

I close my eyes, for you now

But what’s more, I also close my heart

And cross my fingers, to never love again

To never hear, an answering machine

To hear the voice, of one I have lost

Or to spend another… sleepless night
