Eye of the Beholder

Each of us
beautiful in the eyes
of at least one.

Ourselves,
the first.
The most important.

The imperative by which
all should live.

Low self esteem,
negated and forgotten.

The beauty that lies within
all of us worthy of such
adoration.

Losing burdensome baggage,
leaving it at the sides of dark roads,
for the crows to pick over and devour.

Carrion thoughts and misgivings
consuming itself.

and not by us...

gaze upon thyself and rejoice
in your beauty and talents.
leave the crows to feast on other things.
