When We Were UsA Poem by Child of GodA tribute to my favorite people :)Hey guys,
It’s been awhile.
Are you still finding reasons to smile?
Do you still go on long walks at night?
Do you still know your future’s bright?
Can you find the place where memories sleep?
Were there any you thought were fine to keep?
Are some still playing hide and seek?
Are we still there? Are we in your heart?
I know over time we’ve grown apart,
But is there some place that we still are?
Are we drawing symbols on a roof?
Or in our favorite Ihop booth?
Watching clouds, and finding shapes?
Texting group chats we’re home safe?
Skyping Adam from far away?
Celebrating memorial day?
Calling just to say hello?
Making videos in the snow?
Or are we lost, and perhaps forgotten? Have all the good times just gone rotten?
Where have we gone? Where could we be?
Are we still trying to find D.C.?
Wherever we are, I hope we're happy.
I hope we’re smiling, and I hope we’re laughing.
I hope it’s Wednesday, and the sun is gone.
And we’ve all met up by the pond.
I hope we remember when we get old,
The same old stories we’ve over told.
I hope you know I love you guys,
I’m sorry for the times I’ve made you cry.
Maybe someday our hearts will roam,
And find a way to come back home.
I pray the memories never fade,
Of the place where five young hornets played.
That’s where I’ll be waiting friends,
Until the day we meet again.
