Sinner You're Saved

Sinner You're Saved

A Poem by Child of God
"

What God has done for me, and can do for you.

"
I ran from You
I ran from You, right after I got to know You

I traded sanctification for seclusion, and grace for grief

I ran from the Physician, and submitted to the thief

I'm not used to Your love, I know You through pain

It scared me to death when you called me by name

That's not how he calls me, that wretched accuser

The defiler, the wicked, deceiving abuser

he calls me by sin, by shame, by past

Wants me to forget that you freed me from that

Don't get me started on his demonic regime

Thinking they're clever, trying to enter my dreams

God this walk is exhausting, sometimes it's not fun

I'm tired of fighting, I just want to be done

So that's why when you call, I get scared and I run

Like Adam in Eden, I hide in the figs

Too ashamed to come talk to You about all that I did

Some things You have healed, others still infected

Like seeing my worth, because I was rejected

I learned to wear masks, to play my part well

Chasing the things that would send me to hell

But still you kept running, You never gave up

You'd stop at nothing to show me Your love

You called me and called me, You knocked and You knocked

You promised me freedom, and a home on a Rock

I couldn't believe it, my heart was so lost

I said how can this be? And You showed me a cross

It was stained in Your blood, it read King of the Jews

You said this is the covenant that I made with you

I took your burdens, and the sins that you carried,

and payed all your debt, so that we could be married

you don't have to earn this, I'm giving it freely

Surrender your life, and in your heart all will see Me

So I did as You asked, and I try to obey

But I'll be honest with You God, I'm still not ok

I still have my struggles, and I still have my fears

The difference is now, I know that You're here

So thank You dear Father, for all that You've done

Indeed it is finished, and the battle is won
