Sight of sounds

Sight of sounds

A Poem by Neville
"

Seeing is not always believing

"
It's painful to see
Engraved in me
Ever since I came to be.
I'm unable to be thee
Someone please help
I long to embrace
A true reason to honestly bleed
I seep a green ooze
While my trials and challenges
Lead my path into barriers
That will never let me wheeze
Or end up vulnerable
I'll never be forced onto these knees

There’s an aching intensity in this poem, like someone caught between their own strength and suffering, fighting to remain upright in a world that keeps pressing down. The imagery -“green ooze,” “barriers,” “engraved in me”-feels almost otherworldly, like pain has become something alien living inside the speaker.
And yet, there’s also resilience here. A refusal to collapse. The last line hits hard: "I'll never be forced onto these knees." It’s defiance, it’s protection, maybe even survival.
If I could respond in a few lines, I'd say: 'Though wounds speak in colours no one else sees, and walls rise with every breath, your stand-unshaken-is a kind of truth that deserves to be witnessed.'

There is no such thing as truly "seeing" the entirety of anything. Enjoy what you get to look at while you have the time to look. You will see more than most that way. I think, I don't really know... I suffer from the same problem as the rest of us.
