Birth began with you
connected as food to life
nurtured by spirits
Ocean my windswept bride

have I left my selfish pride
drifting toward the sunset
years have floated by
we are still bound together

you are part of me
my lovely watered tide
the moon moves you
forever onto sandy shores

your pulsating rage
is quiet
lifting your arms to me
my lovely blue green sea

how should we be?
Nothing could ever
equal now
bound to our spiritual world
lifted past skin and bone
kept under a quiet pillow
