We Used to Love the WoodsA Poem by Cas MillerSentimental semi-rhyming poem circa 2024
We Used to Love the Woods
The land we brought to fruit Has deep roots Earth pulling All games played here Unfolding brutally Everywhere corpses Burning, turning inward Learning the search In a turn of their own undoing Hurdled the perch Blood pooling Amidst the change I choose To ponder, as I do And when I do I wonder How did fare the others?
