Rain Love Over Me Again.A Poem by Carl R NicolasUntil yesterday, there was a void. there are seasons when the heart grows dry, when yesterday whispers, you were not loved anymore. And I believed it.
Until yesterday, there was a void.
there are seasons when the heart grows dry, when yesterday whispers, you were not loved anymore. And I believed it. Seeing you again today, rewrote the language of my pulse. Until your eyes answered questions I did not dare to ask aloud. And I asked, 'Now what?' Is this it? I was living… but now what? What is life without an eternal flame to warm its winters? My heart was a locked room, dusty and silent. But until I met you again… everything is different. And now? Now I know. I do not want a passing storm. I want an eternal love, strong as the mountains, patient as the sea, unshaken by rumors of yesterday. A love that fills the soul. I need you like the earth needs the rain to feel alive again. Tell me! what is he like, this man you spoke of? He is not perfect. He is not myth. He is simply the one whose silence speaks fire into my chaos. I’m done with the gray, with the shallow, with the ‘now what?’ Until yesterday you said you did not love me. Not anymore. But love, true love, does not vanish like mist. It waits. It remembers. It returns. I love being with you. I already know. I still want you. And now that I have found you again, I do not seek half-measures. I seek forever. You are what makes it all worth it. Let it rain again...I need you still...some souls are designed to walk together. Let’s escape, let us go far from doubt, far from the echoes of not anymore, into a place where our hands remain intertwined through every storm. And I already know… after all the questions, after all the silence, after all the almosts, I still want you. So rain love over me again, and this time, let it flood the earth until there is no dry ground between our hearts. Carl Nicolas. © 2026 Carl R Nicolas |
