Smallest Next to You.

Smallest Next to You.

A Poem by Carl R Nicolas
"

They say you should never stand too close to the ocean, that it humbles you with its sheer magnitude. But I? I stand next to you, and I feel smaller than a grain of sand, and I love it.

"
They say you should never stand too close to the ocean, that it humbles you with its sheer magnitude. But I? I stand next to you, and I feel smaller than a grain of sand, and I love it.

Because you are that ocean.

It is a love that my heart, in its frail human capacity, can barely hold. Every single day, I watch you, a
presence so vast
my existence trembles beneath its own devotion. If love were a mountain,
I would climb it barefoot
just to trace your silhouette against the sun.
You the fiercest joy I have ever known.

I am passionate about the way your strength anchors me when the storms of life try to sway me.

A life without you is not a life I wish to measure. So I will celebrate you today, tomorrow, and with every breath, for you are the heartbeat of my existence.
Carl Nicolas.
