The Front Porch of Existence.A Poem by Carl R NicolasYou can pilot a plane to the sky... slice through clouds like a blade through silk... rise above storms... But you do not command the space above it. You are merely a visitor, passing ...
You can pilot a plane to the sky... slice through clouds like a blade through silk... rise above storms... But you do not command the space above it.
You are merely a visitor, passing through a vast, silent, and unknown territory that answers to no human authority... You can fuel a capsule, defy gravity, and land on the gray dust of the moon... But your exploit hasn't even truly begun... You have only reached the front porch of existence... Yet the cosmos does not salute you... There... Is the boundary of the cosmic... That humbling, immeasurable limit... stretching a territory untouched by certainty... We stand on the shoreline of an infinite, starry ocean, and we can only... assume... what lies beyond its horizon... You can measure distance. You can calculate speed. You can name the planets. But you don't own infinity... The universe is never conquered... it is encountered... let the vastness humble you... Let the unknown inspire you... For we are not masters of space; we are dreamers, peering into the great forever, blessed simply to wonder... You are brilliant… but you are limited... There are realms you cannot dominate... you awaken to something greater than pride... You awaken to wonder... For the cosmos is a reminder that no matter how far you can travel, there will always be more… Dare to explore it... Carl Nicolas. © 2026 Carl R Nicolas |
