Only Jesus Could Carry It All.A Poem by Carl R NicolasThere was only one life… one life that could carry the weight of a broken world, one life pure enough to stand where all others had fallen, one life righteous enough to answer heaven’s call...
There was only one life…
one life that could carry the weight of a broken world, one life pure enough to stand where all others had fallen, one life righteous enough to answer heaven’s call... Humanity tried, through effort, through will, through fragments of goodness, but broken hands cannot mend a shattered soul, and a divided heart cannot rebuild a holy bridge... Every single one of us, born into that fallen condition, we inherit the weakness, the sin, the weight of a debt we cannot pay. No ordinary life, no matter how noble, no matter how righteous, could stand in the breach... But there was... Only One Life... So it was never going to be many… it had to be One... Only one, from the beginning of time to the end of time, qualified to stand where we could not. The sinless life of Jesus Christ, the Son of God... Jesus Christ, fully man, to stand among us, fully God, to reach beyond us... The only life untouched by sin, the only heart unstained, unwavering, whole... God is absolute purity, only a sacrifice of absolute purity could break the curse of sin... If Jesus had failed once, just one impure thought, one selfish moment, one sin in the flesh, His death would have been ineffectual. It would have been just another man falling. But He didn't... Where we failed, He fulfilled. Where we fell, He stood. Where we owed, He paid... A life so perfect it could stand in place of every imperfect one... Holiness requires what we could never offer... a spotless sacrifice, a sinless surrender... Jesus remained untainted. He loved when they hated. He healed when they broken. He brought the Grace of Heaven into the dust of our existence... His life carried a unique weight... divine in significance, fully man, fully God... He remained… sinless in the flesh, steadfast in the storm, pure to the very end... Had there been one flaw, just one, the bridge would collapse, the door would close, Grace would remain out of reach... There was no flaw... His life became the answer, His sacrifice became the power, His name became the way... It was enough... His death was the only life that could pay the debt. His sacrifice was the only sacrifice that could purchase our redemption... Most pure. Most righteous. The only sinless life... His life became the answer... And Grace… finally found its way back to us... Only Jesus could do it... Carl Nicolas. © 2026 Carl R Nicolas |
