A Story by Cait7x
"

It's a romance between a human girl and her guardian angel. This is definitely still in progress and i am just looking for opinions.

Prologue:

   Wings.

That is the first thing I saw in the darkness of the forest behind my home.  The forest went on forever into the night. It was mysterious, but more alluring than anything I‘ve seen.

My mother used to tell us stories of winged creatures living in the essence of the trees. I always knew they were myths, but the magic of the stories never escaped me.

Maybe it was my imagination, seeing wings out of the corner of my eye while writing a song in the soft grasses of my backyard. Maybe it was just an illusion of the wind blowing the branches of the snow-filled trees. Or maybe it could be the wings of a flock of birds fluttering into the cold, mystifying woodland.

My guesses, in fact, were more wrong than I could fathom.

Chapter 1:

I waited for the bus to come to a complete stop before getting up from the cold leather seat I was occupying. The last day of school for the winter season has been quite an exciting day so far; teachers letting us watch movies, Endless talk about what our plans for the break, and the anticipation of the clock to strike at exactly 1:30 (yes, we had grandfather clocks scattered around our old, classic schoolhouses, which I can honestly say weirds me out). I had the whole day ahead of me.

Once I got home, I ran up the stairs to my bedroom. It was large with high ceilings. My mother insisted upon treating me like some kind of princess (if you ever saw me, I don’t think that is even a possibility). I decorated my walls with ancient music and pictures of my friends. My bed practically filled the entire room. I couldn’t say I was disappointed, but she could’ve just given me the attic and I would’ve been happy with that.

I set my stuff down on my bed and changed into a pair of ripped black jeans and a white Evanescence t-shirt. I slipped on some blue sandals and looked in the floor-length mirror behind my door. I could look better. I have recently died my auburn locks jet black and cut my hair to the middle of my back. My hazel-green eyes looked blood-shot and tired. I moved my fingers through my hair a few times, then put on a thin line of black liner around my eyes. That’ll do.

I walked down the stairs and grabbed my small gray messenger bag from the banister. I heard footsteps follow me and looked behind me. It was my brother.

“Hey Tess, are you going to practice with Jordan today?” my twin brother, Ty asked sleepily.

   “Yeah, why?”

“Tell John to burn those Megadeth albums for me.”

   “Sure thing, later”

Ty (obviously his name is Tyler, but Ty is just easier to say) is four minutes older than me and never lets me forget it. He has chin-length brown hair, and pretty much all of the Octavia family features (hazel-green eyes, petite nose, pale skin, killer smile [my touch]) and a dangerous attitude. I’ve learned to deal with his peculiar moods all my life. Other than that, he is one of the funniest people you can possibly meet.

I took out my phone from my pocket and found a text message from Jordan. Jordan is my brother’s and my best friend. He is tall, muscular (in a wiry sense), and tan. He plays guitar for our band “Damn Straight.” He is one very talented guy. He sent me a text saying “Get in my car, I'm outside, dork.” Only he would take the time to call me whatever name in the book he finds. I grab a black jacket from the hanger and run outside before the cold hits me too hard.

I find Jordan sitting by his car in a blue jacket and board shorts. What is he thinking coming out in thirty degree weather in shorts? I swear that boy makes me more nervous than my own brother.

“Come on, slow poke. I'm freezing my a*s of out here waiting for you” he says through shivering teeth.

“If you didn’t care about me as much as you did, you wouldn’t be out here at all” I said and stuck out my tongue. We got in his small Volkswagen Bug and drove out of my driveway to John’s house.

“So how’s this chickmobile holding up?” I laugh. Jordan hits me as we make a slippery turn.

“Shut up, I'm working on it!” he smiles. I always make fun of his car. He lost a bet.

We rode in silence until we got to John’s house a couple blocks away. John is the best DJ around here. He is also the bassist of our band. It took more than enough for him to agree to join the band, but it all worked out. He is the perfect definition of a badass. He practically pulled me out of Jordan’s car for a monster hug. He is 6’3” and huge.

“How is the star-monkey doing?” he laughed a hardy chuckle and set me back on the ground.

“I'm doing great, man” I say laughing. Jordan punches John in the stomach and they wrestle in the snow, leaving me laughing out of my misery.

“Alright girls, break it up” Nate yells, running out of the house. Nate is the other guitar player. He is 5’4” and extremely funny. I’ve never seen the kid without a smile on his face, unless he is into his music, of course.  Ryan follows Nate close behind and jumps on Nate’s back. Ryan is the drummer and alternate singer for the band. He has an amazing voice for singing and screaming alike. He is 6’2”, has black hair, and is often called “The Rev Two.”

“Why don’t you all break it up!” I say smiling and giggling. They all look at each other and back at me. Uh-oh.

“I think Tess wants us to do it again.”

   “No No No...”

   “Yes, I think she does”

   “NO!” I back up slowly.

“Scoop her up men!” Nate shouts.

All four of them pick me up by my legs and run. I screamed and laughed loudly and struggled to get out of their grasps, but it was no use. They had me. It was a rush, but it was excruciating. I laughed and yelled and screamed all at once as they brought me into the garage. They threw me on the soft couch in the corner. At least they threw me on a couch this time instead of in a pool.

“Now that was what we call, The Tessie Throw and Show!” John yells and we all laugh. Then they all get out their instruments and start playing around with different things. I sing a few bars of “Barracuda” by Heart and almost become part of the song when John picks me up and sets me back down by the standing microphone.

“Sing that again Tess, that was really good.”

I smile and sing it again. I hear Jordan and Nate playing along at a low volume and getting into it. Ryan sets down the beat and John starts in as well. By the end of the song, it sounded like we wrote it.

“Now we have to do that with every single song today so we can prepare for next month’s show at the Lounge” I tell them. They nod and say “Yeah!”

“You guys want to play some Flyleaf?” Jordan suggests.

   “Sure!”

We play a few more songs and work on some instrumental solos. By the end of rehearsal, we all sit around the couch and talk.

“So Tess, why did you dye your hair in the first place?” John asks me.

“You look so different, it’s crazy” Nate joins in.

“I guess because I needed a change, I mean, red hair I cool and all, but I thought I should try something new” I said, shrugging my shoulders.

After a few more minutes of talk, we head out. Jordan put on some Drum & Bass on the way home. He bobs his hear forward and backward to the beat as I tap my foot on the dashboard. As he drops me off home, he pats my back and pushes me out. I giggle and I hear him softly laugh. I close his door and walk into my house.

I walk up the stairs and peek into Ty’s room. He is playing his Xbox in his boxers and listening to loud music, which reminds me that I forgot the disk from John. I quickly run into my room so he doesn’t see me.

I set my bag down on the floor and change out of my cloths into a large X-Men t-shirt and shorts. I walk over to my window and look out into our misty backyard. I skim over it and glance at the endless forest. I stare at it for a few minutes and then jump on my soft, feathery, white bed.

I think about the scene outside. I’m pretty sure I saw wings again, and not just one small pair, but a large, unfamiliar pair of white wings. I thought about it up until I fell asleep, and dreamed about them all night.

Chapter 2:

I wake up to the smell of vanilla bean coffee and blueberry waffles. My mom is making her famous calming Saturday breakfast for us. It is the best breakfast in the universe. I practically run into Ty as we race down the stairs to get the first of the warm batch of waffles and coffee.

“Mom, you did it again” Ty smiled and raised his glass.

“To the best breakfast!” Mom said and laughed along with me. We dug in and listened to contemporary radio in the background. It was my favorite part of every Saturday. As we sat in silence (other than the radio), I thought about which movies I will watch later in my room. Saturdays are usually movie day since Mom goes to work for her twenty-four hour shift at her biology lab.

As breakfast ends, we kiss Mom good-bye and head for our rooms. I looked for a comfy white tank top and black furry pajama pants. I set them on my bathroom counter and head into the shower.

Showers are literally the best part of the day. The hot, steamy water sooths your skin and warms you up like nothing else. It is also good for thinking. I thought about writing a few more songs when I watch the movies in my bed. I look down at my foot and look at the moon tattoo on my ankle. I got it when I was fifteen on a whim. It was beautifully outlined in purple ink and white stripes. I probably won’t ever regret getting it, even if I was just being incredibly stupid.

After about thirty minutes of washing and lathering up, I hear a small clatter outside the shower door. I stop what I’m doing for a second to hear anything else. It was probably just Ty in the other room, I thought, and went back to washing. After a few more minutes pass, I hear it again. By this time, I’m ready to get out of the shower anyways. I turn off the shower and stand still in the shower.

I hear another clatter outside the door.

I start to get scared a little when I heard it louder this time. I slowly grab hold of the door handle and hold onto it for another few seconds. When I get up the courage to see what is outside, I push the door open as fast as I can and see someone standing in front of me.

   I screamed.

“No No!” he shouted, trying to sound nice. “Did I scare you? I'm so sorry! I didn’t mean to-“

“Who are you and how did you get in my bathroom?” I asked, scared out of my mind as my hands were over my mouth. I got a good look at him then. He was taller than me, and incredibly good-looking. He had sweeping blond hair and mystifying brown eyes. He was shirtless, revealing a toned tummy and a happy-trail. His arms were also toned, but his right arm had a light tattoo down the bicep. He was wearing a pair of black sweatpants. I looked back up at his face. His eyebrows were up and he was staring at me with a sexy look.

It was then I realized I was standing in front of him completely naked.

“Oh s**t” I said as I scrambled to get a towel off the hanger. He kept staring at me with that look on his face. I was probably blushing out of my mind, and completely embarrassed.

“No its okay, I'm sorry” he said quickly. “Here, I’ll walk out if you want to-“

“Well, you’ve already seen everything anyways, so I guess you can stay.”

He looked surprised, but obviously didn’t object. He leaned up against the wall as I took off my towel and changed into my t-shirt and pants. He didn’t even look my way the whole time. Good thing too, I was shaking.

“I should introduce myself shouldn’t I?” he said with a timid smile.

“Yeah, that would be a good idea”

I led him to my room. He sat on the sofa next to my bed as I sat on the side of my bed facing him.

“My name is Seth. I’m not so sure if I should tell you why I’m here.”

“Are you a serial killer?” I ask with a joking smile.

He laughed “If I were a serial killer, you would’ve probably been dead when you were in the shower.”

“Like Psycho” I said, and he smiled.

“Yeah, but I don’t think you will believe a perfect stranger if I told you why I was here, or who I am for that matter.”

   “Why?”

“Well, I know your name is Tess Karen Octavia.”

“How did you know my name?”

“You wouldn’t believe me if I told you; and I want you to trust me” he smiled a sexy smile, but it looked sincere.

I moved over to the couch next to him. I sat really close to him and grabbed his muscular arm and pulled him closer. I put my head on his shoulder.

   “If I didn’t trust you, I wouldn’t do this.”

He loosened up a little and leaned back. I sat next to him with my knees up to my chin. He looked at me for a long time; staring at me with gentle eyes and a genuine-looking smile.

   “Please tell me?” I asked.

He sighed and looked down for a long time. Suddenly I saw something on his back open up like a surgery cut. On his back grew magnificent feathers which gradually grew into soft white wings that were greater than even the images in my head.

   “Oh my God”

He looked back at me, looking a lot more relaxed.

“Tess, I am your guardian angel”

Chapter 3:

I sat there, unable to move even the slightest bit for a long time, staring at how beautiful and unreal this was. When I could finally move, I jumped off the couch and jumped on my bed.

   “Oh my god”

I kept saying it over and over again. Seth came over after a few moments and sat on the edge of my bed.

   “I told you”

I looked at him for a long time. Even if this whole thing was completely crazy, I knew it had to be true. No one could grow wings like that, not even the most talented magician.

He came a little closer to me and took my hand. My whole body relaxed to his touch. He moved my hand to his back and made me feel the base of the wings. His back was also muscular (how surprising...) and soft. So was the base of his wings, which looked amazingly natural coming out of his back. I looked at him again.

“You don’t need to be afraid of me”

   “I...don’t know what to even...”

He took my other hand. “It’s okay. I shouldn’t have done this so suddenly. I-“

   “Seth, it’s okay. I’m just...”

   “Shocked out of your mind?”

   “Yeah”

   “I would be too”

He sat closer to me and made me lay on his shoulder. His wings rubbed against my arm and felt softer than the softest pillow.

   “You’re so...soft”

He looked away blushing. “I can’t help it.”

I giggled and he smiled at me.

“I'm sorry that I made this the worst possible meeting-your-guardian-angel experience ever”

“How many people know they even have one?”

   “Just you”

I looked at him surprisingly. “No one else knows that you guys exist but...me?”

   “Shockingly, yeah”

I contemplated this. How is it that a random angel comes in my room expecting me to believe all of this in one sitting?

“It doesn’t have to be one sitting”

I stared at him with my mouth hanging wide open. “How did you know-?”

“I’m your guardian angel; of course I'm going to hear your thoughts”

I kept staring at him. He laughed a little.

“Well this is awkward” he said smiling.

“What else can you do?” I hesitated.

   “Anything you want me to”

“Can I ask you something?” I asked, still hesitant.

“You can ask me anything Tess. That’s partially why I'm here. You should have a right to know who the stranger stalking you in the shower is.” He smiled, about to laugh.

I smiled right back and looked at him again. My, my; he was gorgeous.

   “I heard that”

I laughed and looked away, blushing.

“What were you going to ask?” he said, still smiling widely.

“I can ask you a million questions at once right now. I want to know everything!” I proclaimed.

He grinned at me for a second before he started off.

“Well, I was born the same year, day, and time as you”

   “Really?” I asked, baffled.

“Yes. I was born in the confines of my home in the Opulent Property. I have three sisters that are older than me. I was bestowed the opportunity of being your guardian on my first birthday. In Heaven, seraph’s always have high intelligence even as a young child. So I jumped at the chance to be a protector. I am the first in my family to go above the rank of an expected Angel. They are all very proud of me.”

“Okay, what is the Opulent Property?”

“It is a section of heaven for wealthy farmers, like my father and mother.”

“You can grow crops in Heaven?”

“Heaven is pretty much like Earth, except different. It is extremely hard to explain to a living human like you.”

   “Well thanks”

He laughed. “Anyways, when I turned ten, I had to leave my home and live as a nomadic protector in the confines of your backyard forest.”

“That was you?” I asked, surprised.

   “What do you mean?”

“I would always see something out of the corner of my eye whenever I would sit outside and-“

   “Write music”

“How did you know what I was doing?”

“I’m your guardian angel. I know everything about you, remember?” he said chuckling to himself.

I smiled and moved over to face him. “If you are really my guardian angel, and you really do know everything about me, tell me something you know that I’ve never told anyone else before.”

   He thought for a second.

“Let’s see...you sprained your ankle when you were 10, but it was really from tripping over a rock instead of falling into a ditch. You’ve secretly liked Jordan since the day you’ve met him and never told a soul about it. You stood up for your brother against his own mean friends and never told him. You wanted to be in your band because you wanted to spend more time staring at Jordan, and then got into the actual project about the music. Your mother told you and your brother stories about magical beings living in the forest where I was living at the time. And your tattoo was not supposedly gotten on a whim, was for the symbolism of one of the Greek gods of the Night.”

I almost fell over. Everything he said were some of the things I never wanted to admit to myself. My eyes started to water.

“Oh god, I'm sorry! I didn’t mean to make you cry, forgive me?” he said, taking both of my hands in his.

“It’s just that I knew and I never told anyone and I just met you and I don’t know if I can trust you but I know I can and I know you want me to.”

I was sobbing and I blurted out all of those things to him. He held my hands really tight and pulled me close to him. I put my face in his soothing white wings and I felt a lot better. He rubbed my back slowly and carefully, like he could break me in a second. I nestled in his shoulders and he ran his fingers through my hair.

“You can trust me Tess. I give you my word” he whispered in my ear. “I wouldn’t ever hurt you.”

I gazed into his beautiful brown eyes and he smiled down at me.

   “Promise?” I asked, pouting.

He flexed his stomach and I practically melted off of my bed.

   “Promise” he grinned seductively.

Chapter 4:

We talked for another hour. He told me about his family and friends he had in Heaven. He also told me about his life in the forest when he first became my guardian angel. I was fascinated by everything he told me, but I knew there was much more I still didn’t know yet.

“Weren’t you going to have a movie day?” he asked curiously.

“Actually, I was. What would you like to watch Seth?” I asked with a slight smile.

“Well, I was thinking something along the lines of...Pirates of the Caribbean!” he shouted, laughing insanely. I looked at him like he was crazy.

“Alright, Pirates it is!” I shout right back. I put in the movie and I snuggle into him. We watched the movie for a little while, until more questions popped into my head.

“I’m guessing you don’t wear a shirt because of your wings?”

“Well I can retract my wings back into my skin, but it’s quite a long process. It is also more comfortable if they aren’t retracted because I feel a lot more weight on me. And I could wear a shirt, but I feel it’s more comfortable without one on.”

“And you say you can read all of my thoughts?”

“Yes. I hear your voice in my head all the time. I can also sense how you feel as well.”

   “Does it every get annoying?”

“If it ever does, I tune it out” he squeezed my arm slightly. “But that hardly ever happens”

I beam up at him. “Since you know pretty much everything about me, I want to know everything about you” I squeeze his arm back. He chuckles a little.

“Well, you know the basics already, but other than spending most of my life learning about you, I do a lot of other things. Understand that in Heaven and on Earth, I have different qualities. On Earth, I can surf fairly well; I swim, play the cello, and play soccer. In Heaven, I can speak fluent Evana, I play brockens, and I play the harp.”

“I understand all of the Earth hobbies, but not the Heaven stuff” I say laughing. He smirked at me and laughed. God he was so hot, I thought, until he smiled intensely at me, signaling that he heard what I thought.

“It’s extremely hard to explain to a human, what we angels do in Heaven” he said, still smiling intensely. I blushed and looked away.

“You know, you can just say out loud what you think” he said after a moment of silence between us. I looked at him again. He was still smiling, which made me completely melt. I started to breathe quicker.

“Am I supposed to feel attracted to you so quickly? I mean we just met. Is that weird?” I asked rapidly. I fell back on my bed.

“I don’t know, but you’re not so bad yourself” he said smiling. He scooted closer to me.

“Wow, this is crazy. In one day, I meet my guardian angel, and become attracted to him. Has anything like this ever happened to you?”

“Actually, I'm experiencing this too for the first time. You’re the first human I’ve ever met face-to-face; if that makes you feel any better.”

   I sat up again. “Really?”

   “Yes. You are-“

“Tess! I have to show you something!” Ty screamed from outside. I heard his footsteps from outside.

   “Seth hi-“

But he wasn’t there when Ty opened the door.

Chapter 5:

   “Tess, look at this!”

He brought his laptop on my bed. I looked around for Seth, but he was nowhere to be seen. I started to worry, but I looked back at Ty like there was nothing wrong.

“Jordan posted his new lyrics on his Facebook! Did you read them?” he asked excitedly

“I did, I really like how the verses paint a picture in your mind” I said in a hurry, worrying about Seth. I hope he wasn’t just a figment of my imagination. I would have to see a therapist, or something.

“Oh, I thought you didn’t see them. Well get back to your movie” he said smiling widely as he closed the door behind him.

   Now, where was Seth?

   “Here I am”

I jumped. He was sitting in the same place as he was before Ty came in.

“Where did you go?” I asked, sitting next to him.

“I was here the whole time”

“What?” I was confused. He wasn’t there a minute ago.

“I was here a minute ago. I was here the entire time. I can make myself appear to only the people you want me to be seen in front of.”

I thought about that for a second. It was pretty convenient.

   He laughed “Convenient?”

“Hey, that was private” I said, sticking out my tongue.

He sat there smiling while I was thinking about what else to ask him. Finally, I came up with the perfect question.

“What else can you do? If you’re an angel, can’t you do anything?”

He contemplated for a minute before answering. “In theory I can do almost anything. But that’s only on Earth. On Earth, it is more of an illusion that I disappear or do anything else for that matter. In Heaven, since all angels can do practically the same things, we can’t pull off the show as well as we can on Earth. I can’t disappear like how I just did in Heaven since angels conquer all senses no matter how intricate anything can be. Also, all humans are instantly attracted to angels. But within each hierarchy, we have different physical appearances.”

   “Like what?”

“Heaven is much like, say, an exaggerated form of high school; with different groups of people symbolizing different groups of the hierarchy. At the bottom we have the Casseys. Casseys are the poor angels who live in sometimes poverty-stricken areas.”

“There are poor angels in Heaven?” I asked.

“Tess, Heaven is much like Earth, except in Heaven, there is no war. That is pretty much the biggest difference.”

I thought about this. It made sense.

“It does make a little sense. I'm surprised you’re picking up with this so quickly. I always knew you were smart” he said, nudging my stomach softly. I felt butterflies in my stomach.

He went on “After Casseys, we have the Ederra. Ederra are middle-class angels. They are a peaceful people. Most of Heaven is Ederra. My family is Ederra.”

   “What about you?”

“I am a Curatrix angel. There make up about an eighth of Heaven. It’s all of the guardian angels for the most perfect matches of humans. If you are a perfect match to any living human, you pretty much qualify to become a Curatrix. The difference between Curatrix angels and everyone else is that you cannot be born into it. You have to be chosen.”

“Did you have to take a test or something?”

“Actually, yes. Every angel takes a long test at the age of four to see where he or she will be placed or placed at all into a group of the hierarchy. I happen to be a good test-taker since you’re my little companion, as they call it.”

I laughed. He called me his little companion! I blushed.

“Hey, I didn’t make that up!” he said chuckling sexily.

“Anyways, go on. Heaven sounds interesting!” I say laughing and still blushing.

“I guess it is” he laughed. “After the Curatrix angels comes the Archangels. You probably know of Raphael, Michael, and Gabriel?”

“Yes I have. But why are they so famous on Earth?”

“Other than the fact they had an important message to share that impacted a whole religion. They are truly famous on Earth because they were the first to come in contact with humans. There are more than just three Archangels, but they make up the Triad of Archie. It’s basically putting them in their own category of rule over the rest of the Archangels.”

   “Have you ever met them?”

“Of course; Gabriel is my godfather.”

My jaw hung open. “How can that be? Isn’t he about a thousand years old by now?”

“Well, yes; but after we go through the approximate human lifespan, we can revert back to any age we choose. The Triad all look like there about twenty years old right now. And Gabriel looks nothing like what human painters picture him as. He looks much better” he said, obviously getting a kick out of it.

“Have you gone through a human lifespan?”

“As I said, I’m honestly the same age as you”

“Oh, right” I said sounding really dumb.

“It’s okay.” he said laughing again. “You’re still the cutest thing”

I was probably blushing so much it was taking over my face, but that was okay, because I loved every second of it.

“You know, the movie is over”

I looked at the television. It was onto the credits.

“What do you want to watch, my almighty guardian Seth?” I said smiling and bowing playfully.

He raised his eyebrows. “I should be bowing to you, my lady. You are, after all, very beautiful.”

It took all of my effort not to fall over. Why must he do that? He was more than perfect!

“I’m not perfect, lovely, but I think you are.”

   “I’m not either.”

“Well that makes two of us” he said with a crooked grin.

   “But, you are an angel.”

“So? You don’t have to be an angel to be perfect.”

   “But I'm not.”

“I think you can pass as perfect.” He smiled so big I almost fell over again.

“Nooooo” I said laughing a little. He nudged my shoulder slightly.

“You should put on Pan’s Labyrinth. I love that movie” he said, swaying his body back and forth.

“And you should put on a shirt before I fall over”

He laughed. “Oh, so you like this” he said, pointing at his stomach. “I have been working out for you.”

   My eyes widened. “For me?”

“Well I didn’t want to come as a sumo wrestler” he said and I laughed hysterically. We both lay on my bed and stared at the ceiling as Pan’s Labyrinth started. We stayed like that for a long time. I stared over at him. He looked like the actor Alex Pettyfer with longer blond hair. He looked at me funny when I thought that.

“You know who that is right?”

   “Maybe; Show me a picture”

I got up and reached for my laptop on the table next to my bed. I searched Alex Pettyfer on Google and showed Seth his picture. He laughed.

“I kind of do look like him, don’t I?”

   I laughed again. “A little”

We sat there in silence and turned to the television and watched the movie. After about a half hour, I started to get hungry.

“Hey, Seth, would you like anything to eat?”

“I’m not that hungry, but I won’t hold you against your will.” He motioned for me to get something to eat.

   “Come with me?” I asked

   “Sure.”

I led him downstairs to the kitchen. He sat on the leather chair next to the mahogany counters, studying the room as I got a tub of ice cream and a bottle of SoBe.  When I got what I needed, I sat next to him on the rug.

“This ice cream is SO GOOD” I tease.

“It would work if I were hungry” he smirked.

I stuck my tongue out at him.

“I should tell you a little more about me”

“I want to know everything about you” I smiled.

He laughed silently. “Well, I have friends here on Earth that are also angels.”

   “Really?”

“Yes. And I must share, they also watch over you.”

I stared at him. “Do you mean that they...”

“They are also your guardian angels”

Chapter 6:

“Why do I have more than one?”

“Because you are one of the only humans that needs the most protection”

I just looked at him, not able to say anything.

“You are one of two of the only humans that can mate with an angel”

   My jaw dropped.

“Yeah, I can see why you’d be surprised”

   “So...What does that mean?”

“It means all of your guardian angels are male”

Great; I wake up one morning and find out that I am the most beautiful, fertile human on Earth which apparently every guy angel wants to mate with. Good Lord.

“Not your typical day.” Seth said, sounding understanding.

“Exactly how many angels do I have?” I braced for a big number.

   “Four.”

My eyes widened. “If I have four angels, why are you the only one I’ve met?”

“Because I'm your primary guardian. I want you to be able to trust me first.” He said it like there was more he wasn’t telling me. I gave him a look.

“Okay, all four of us want to come to you in different ways. We want you to feel as safe as possible with us. You can trust all of us with everything.”

“Is there some sort of power you guys have on me?”

He hesitated before going on. “I am the only one out of all of us that can read your mind and know what you’re feeling.”

“Can I just meet the other three now?”

   He shook his head.

“Oh come on, please?” I asked.

He looked down and shook his head again.

I’m going to seduce you Seth if you don’t tell me, I thought. His eyes widened and he didn’t move.

“Come on Seth, you know you want to tell me.” I said in a sultry voice. He looked at me and said nothing. I got up and sat on his lap, straddling his legs.

“Please” I begged. He let out an almost silent moan. I melted all over.

   “Tess, your killing me”

“Seth, please” I said in an even sexier voice. He put his head back against the chair. I felt him get hard under his pants. He looked at me and blushed.

“Alright!” he said suddenly, pleadingly. “I’ll tell them to come in! Just do me a favor first.”

   “What?”

He leaned in and kissed me tenderly. I felt my whole body go numb with desire. I kissed him back softly. He wrapped his arms around my back. He moaned again and bit my bottom lip, which made me moan a little. I put my hands on his abs and massaged them with my thumbs. He moaned again. In that moment, I knew only one thing.

   I wanted Seth so badly.

   I want you too.

I broke the kiss, hearing the voice suddenly.

“Did I just hear your thoughts?” I asked, surprised.

“I think you did” he said, just as surprised as me. “That wasn’t supposed to happen.”

“Wait, why did I hear your thoughts?”

He mumbled to himself something I couldn’t hear. Then he looked at me. His face was bright red.

“That’s only supposed to happen when an angel and human are in love with each other.”

I just looked at him. I knew that I was blushing too.

“I just met you. How can I feel this much so fast?” I asked.

“I don’t know. I feel the same way as you” he said, stunned. “I don’t know what to say”

   “Me either.”

We just stared at each other. After a moment of staring into his beautiful eyes, he scanned me all the way down and up again. He grinned sexily. I giggled and looked away.

“God damn” he said to himself. “I kind of want to keep you all to myself.”

“Well you need to share, Seth.”

We both looked over. Three other guys were looking at me on the chair. They were all tall, skinny and absolutely gorgeous. One had short brown hair, green and brown eyes, and was tan. Another had curly black hair with blue eyes and a tattoo of a fawn on his chest. The last one was blond, like Seth, but his hair was short and his eyes were a beautiful amethyst color and he was also tan, like Seth. They were all just as good-looking as Seth. My mouth dropped.

“Could you guys come at a worse time?” Seth said, looking annoyed. They all laughed.

“Well, Ms. Tess needs a formal introduction before she decides which one of us she wants.” The blond said.

“Alright. Tess, this is Starr” he pointed to the blond. Starr smiled and bowed.

“It is very nice to meet you, my lady.”

“Starr is very old-school.” Seth said, looking annoyed for a minute, and then laughed.

“This is Cole.” Seth pointed at the curly, black haired guy. “When he was alive, he was in the ancient Greek Olympics.”

“It’s awesome to finally meet you” he said and grinned.

“And this is Taylor.” Seth pointed out the tan, brunette guy in the corner. “He died as a newborn of heart failure.” My eyes widened.

“Don’t be frightened, your highness, I'm quite alright” he said in a fake British accent and laughing. I smiled at all of them. They beamed back.

“You asked me earlier if all of them can sense something about you. Well, they definitely can. Will you guys tell her what you can sense in her?” Seth asked.

“Well, I can sense where you are at all times.” Taylor pronounced in a regular voice. “So I can know you’re safe” he said, jumping once. I raised my eyebrows and laughed.

“I can see your future.” Starr said. “It’s a little foggy right now since we’ve just met you” he said with a smirk.

Cole stepped forward. “I can sense your judgment on everything. Like what you think about whatever circumstance you’re in.”

“They all want you to feel comfortable around them.” Seth told me. “But I am the only one who can read your thoughts” he pointed out with a grin.

“Hey, don’t rub it in. We all want that ability” Taylor said. “And I think we have to go back to the forest now to patrol the area.”

“Yeah; monsters and aliens might kill you Tess.” Cole said.

“Their kidding” Seth said with a chuckle. As the three of them walked out, they waved and grinned. I waved back and giggled. I couldn’t believe I had four equally hot guys wanting to be with me. That never happens to anyone. I felt really different, if I could even say that. I looked over at Seth, who put his hands in the pockets of his sweatpants. I walked over to him and took his arm out of one of his pockets and held his hand. I led him upstairs to my room with a smile on my face.

I like the concept of the story... It is good, but I thought that it was going to be a short story and only read three chapters...

Please put this in the book section and I can then comment on a chapter at time and read at my own leisure.

A few mistakes so far but I'll proof read it for you if you want (message me).

Hey Caitlin. :) First up, you should try turning this into a book instead of just one story. It would look more organized. And then, you switch between the past and present tense pretty often. You should try sticking into one only, so you would confuse your readers. You also have a few grammatical errors, but you can fix that easily.
Other than those mistakes, I really enjoyed reading this.

Keep writing! :)
