Why Did she Do It

Why Did she Do It

A Story by Kaspar Carr
"

i should have helped

"

I knew someone via the net,
Her daily rantings proved she was very upset;
I saw her around town, knew the name,
Thought she'd be around forever, but now I know shame.

Hindsight, they say, is always 20/20,
Reading the previous days posts, the hints were plenty;
Was it a cry for help, or a farewell,
Perhaps we will never be able to tell.

An unhappy life, she felt she was alone,
Texting her messages via her cell phone;
Why did she do it, texting in the dark,
At the end, the social site will always portray her final remark.
