If Death Should Take Me

If Death Should Take Me

A Poem by Kaspar Carr
"

i sit and wait

"

If my soul should pass away before the next
break of day, know that I loved each and every
Person that came my way. I loved the lord
and pursused what I thought he tried to convey
in the good book, Yes i've sinned
but anger is the foothold of the devil in all men and women.
So please forgive me for the bouts of conflict within
Know I was one of the few that knew, the meaning
of a soulful interrogation of their own feelings
Like Miles Davis playing a 'Kind of Blue'
My emotions were always on display
Like the trumpet that he so pationately played
If I should die before I wake Before the suns rays peak, over the horizon
Or before the tide rolls in or a new one starts to break
Just know I'm in heaven with Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison,
and Billie Holiday singing an 'Amazing Grace' remake
To the Sinners standing in long line for an admission at the gate....
