As He Passes Away

As He Passes Away

A Poem by Kaspar Carr
"

he is dieing

"

As he passes away,
He holds his head high,
Even though he's shaking,
As he whispers goodbye.
There's nothing left to do,
Little left to say.
The doctor said earlier,
He may not make it through the day.
His family watches,
He looks so prepared.
But deep in his heart,
He really is scared.
The poor little girl,
So small and meek.
Looking so strong,
As she lets a tear leak.
"You are my angel",
She hears him say,
As he closes his eyes,
And passes away.
