It's almost a tale too sad to tell
I fell in love with a girl, though I tried to fight it
For I know too well, there is no greater hell
Than a love gone unrequited
I don't know that I'd want to forget her
Even if I could
Perfection's so rare a thing
Though nothing happens as it should
Her very breath, existence, life
Destroy me, leave me empty
Her face, my dreams, and every night
They haunt me, hate me, tempt me
Alas and when I see her now
It's almost more than I can take
For still she makes my heart do funny things
Like beat far too fast, or break.
