What We Had

What We Had

A Poem by Kaspar Carr
"

it was amamzing what we had but i have to get my self togeather to have you back

"

Laying on the blacktop
Gazing up at the sky
I have no idea
How much time's gone by

Is it ten?
No perhaps it's two
My mind is a blur
With images of you

I long for your presence
For one single touch
To know I'm not crazy
Could you give me that much?

What happened to yesterday?
Better yet what happened to forever
Through thick and thin
We were supposed to be together

Now I want what I thought we had
But no longer with you
With someone who appreciates me
For all the little things I do

I know you have spent nights like these
Wondering if you made the right choice
Praying for an answer
From some imaginary voice

I loved what we had
But we can do better
I set my sights on the sun
Before I go and get her
