I Will Not

I Will Not

A Poem by Caoilte Setanta
"

This is a poem about self-belief and self-confidence. The courage to be true to oneself in the world.

"
I will not live
At the behest
Of anybody.

I will not live
With my eyes blocked
And my hooves ironed.

I will not forgo
The joys of today
For some unpromised future.

I will not waste
My life in preparation
Never living.

Gee
It is easier to live this way when older, once happy in ones skin. Many moons ago as a teenager, late teens, I would behave in a way that I thought was expected to be accepted. Now, in my early 60's, , I don't give a flying f#@k what folk think of me as long as I am loved by friends and family.
Nice piece
