Battle on the Stiff

Battle on the Stiff

A Poem by Jeremy Michael White

Thundercloud growls over a domed city
Electric lines of hate illuminate the streets
Starving skies - Black as coal
Picking at the diamond

Starving lies from blackened souls
Picking at the diamond

A single piercing bolt escapes
Anchors to our space

Uplift - a struggle shift
This is the Battle on the Stiff

In a shaking quake -
the glowing marble escapes
Spinning in blind orbits
- Distance minus time

Taste the end and start again
What begins will all depend
On how detached the globe can be
Flying away from eternity

A single piercing bolt escapes
Anchors to our space

Uplift - a struggle shift
This is the Battle on the Stiff

Somewhere there's a black hole that's waiting to explode
