Turnips Bleed FireA Poem by Captain UglyI write em. You describe em.
Turnips bleed fire and it spreads through the shire And smoke piles up higher than nightfall Wise men with gray beards spit light the day hears And proud dead ride the time waves to Heaven Sleep well in your hole, stark naked and cold You freakish dark troll, with your madness Awaiting the chance for crushing advance On heroes with skin worn like glory Taste of warm blood like hot honey mud That thuds in the hearts of the mighty Make stew from the dead and stake up their heads To shoot fear in the eyes of their kinsmen Raise up the beasts from the earth now to feast On pieces of life in the melee. Savage and man; paws and claws versus hands Collide like hot planets and shatter This is no holy war, just talons and swords For the sake of dominion and conquest For passionate hate and pain it creates For what’s different always breathes evil Now the blood of the dead paints green fields red It was shed in the greatest of battles But ghosts can not share the spoils and fare That drip from the chins of the living Demons prowl deep for what angels won’t keep In the corpses that sleep now and ever Flames in their eyes like stars in the sky Light up the black night like volcanoes Turnips bleed fire and it spreads through the shire And smoke piles up higher than nightfall Wise men with gray beards spit light the day hears And proud dead ride the time waves to Heaven © 2009 Captain UglyReviews
