Hollow

Another depressing piece.

you are there
though i cannot say how you arrived
and i vaguely recall the when

i have tried to chase you out
and put others in your place
throughout all you've refused to budge

i lie, and lie, and lie
to myself most of all

one day i'll be rid of you

but the words are hollow
like my heart
i know you'll be there

always
