A Chapter by TheWriter
"

I've long moved on from this website on which I have written my first story ages ago. Three years later, I am back to drop some advice on how to never ever have to write like I did three years ago.

"
This is the most hilarious thing I have ever found.
Writing online was something introduced to me three years ago, and it was on this very website I wrote my first book. Or at least attempted to write a book, all that I have discovered is two chapters that are so poorly written I actually laughed so hard I shed a tear while rereading them.
To be frank, I was not sure what I would find when I came back to this forgotten profile. (And by the way what kind of username is "TheWriter." I'm 99% positive I gave out a password to someone and they changed my settings.) What I did find, though, was two pieces of writing I will never forget. Mostly because of how laughably bad they are.
I write on Wattpad now, or at least try to, I take down writing 20 minutes after I post it because of how insecure and unsure I am about receiving criticism. Seeing these two chapters up after so many years was embarrassing at first, but then it was rather eye-opening . If I had enough confidence in these chapters to keep them out on the internet so many years ago, then I should have enough confidence to be critiqued now. These two chapters have literally received more reads than I have ever gotten on recent pieces writing, and that says something.
I am stuck in a cycle of writing, putting it out there, and then taking it down whenever I get so much as a word of criticism. Most of the time I don't even keep them out long enough for anyone to read it. Maybe if I had the confidence I had back then, would I be able to improve at a much faster rate than I am now?
I guess what I am saying is, don't be afraid to put your writing out there, because if what I am seeing is not improvement from three years ago, I don't know what is. Everyone starts somewhere, it does not matter how or where you start, just as long as you do it.

As I have said before, I hope this gives you a new 'perspection." I'm not kidding, I have actually used the word "perspection" in a book.
