my best friend

my best friend

A Poem by Caroline Grimm

I hope in every life you're there for me like you were in this one.
You helped me when I thought it all was done.
When I was at my lowest you were there.
Letting me ruffle your hair.
You helped me find my laugh again.
I miss us back then.
Before we went our separate ways.
Our heads no longer filled with haze.
You were my best friend, and I hope you still are.
Even with every scar, I hope you arent too far.
You helped me when I needed it most.
And you never went ghost.
I appreciate the help and everything you did.
Even when you went and hid.
You always let me in.
I miss you then and I miss you now.
And there is no explanation for how.
I hope I never forget you.
And that maybe you have a clue.
A clue that this is about you and everything you did.
Even when I went and hid I appreciate what you did.
