The lucky one

The lucky one

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

The gift of love. No more honored gift.

"
                               The lucky one

She offered me a smile and a hello.
I was besieged by her beauty.
She asked me to dance the Texas two step. I agreed.
I held her close and told her.

Thank you for the dance. You are so beautiful and too kind.
She kissed my cheek and whispered. Soldier, I like your style.
Real men don't rush into the fire. They allow the flame to grow and become strong.
Today I'm the lucky one to have met you Johnnie.

I kissed her forehead and I told her. I'm the lucky one.

Short and so very sweet. The gift of love can be so simple and yet...it stays in one's heart forever...

A lovely poem and a time tested sentiment. The ones who come and stay are meant to be there. There is much driftwood on the sea of life...like tropical coconuts looking for an island shore to put down roots and become a peaceful swaying palm. It's good to be settled in the sand...to have roots and the ability to bend so that we do not even fear the hurricanes. I always enjoy your writes.

A sweet write. To many want to rush into a relationship and that is partly why less than 50% stay hitched. Nice write. god bless Valentine
