I'm no-one and you are everything

I'm no-one and you are everything

A Poem by Coyote Poetry

I'm no-one and you are everything

I bleed everyday for people who have no concern for me. I work and and I work some more. I have accepted my place without a fight. Years ago. I would have stood my ground and fought for the right things.

Now old age had caught me and my life view had changed. Now children at my feet and bills to be paid.  I learn I'm parts of many people lives. Need a peaceful man willing to work and know concern.

I know life is hard work. Good people will work and work for the need of a home and to maintain a deceit life. I do not complain. I know today. I'm no-one and you are everything.

Everything is the gifts of love.
The smiles of child.
Making the dear wife happy and safe.
Finding time to spend with the children.

Life is a twisted journey. If we are lucky. We learn to appreciate the new day, good friends and laughter. We are here for a short time. We need to leave memories of someone who worked hard, loved hard and loved to laugh.

I'm no-one and you are everything. A wise person will understand. The love we leave behind is the wealth we have truly create.

How true this is. The love of family and friends is what is remembered in the end. We have to do what we can to make them remember when we are gone. Indeed, my friend, "life is a twisted journey" and every twist and turn gives us choices. It is the choices we make that determine the course of our lives. Well written, John. Lydi**

Truer words have not be written. I have often not felt worthy of the one who loves me. Thanks for sharing your fine words.

Thank you. I appreciate the comment. Old age is making me wiser.
...Though love has many ways of expressing itself - through poetry, for instance, and not poems about love...
This is a poignant piece of writing and makes me think of the unfortunate reality that wisdom comes with experience as well as age - but essentially it's all related to time. If only we could achieve that wisdom sooner, but that seems illogical, of course, not to say virtually impossible. Also, it leads to me to think of the meaning of life (which this piece certainly relates to) in terms of acceptance, and of smaller beauties and achievements somehow. That is an important spiritual point, and less simple than it seems, I think.
There is also a subtle jaded hint of resignation in the language of these thoughts, which I think is significant to consider - the effects of time and experience on the soul have similar results to that of a stone or other object. And perhaps it is that tattered and tainted aspect that denotes a sense of wisdom, ironically, in a way. A sign that we have "been there" perhaps. Anyway, I'm stating what ought to be obvious.
The phrase "I'm no-one and you are everything" says a great deal more than its mere words. The same thing can be said for the writing it refers to.
