A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

Just words.

"
I knew love once.
I held love once,
I remember your perfect face.
I ran away from you once and today.
I wait for no-one.
------------------------------

Johnnie, Johnnie.
she whispered.
What did you do?
I love you and you are me leaving for the damn wars.
War don't care about you and I do.

------------------------------------

Paper, pen and the memory.
You were so beautiful.
We had the Spring and we had the Summer.
I left and I came home in the late Winter and
you and I.
Became  the sleeping moon and  the raising sun.
Never to met as lovers again.

A wonderfully emotional poem, my friend....

Those finals lines sum of the piece extremely poetically; once two lovers drift apart they do become like the sun and moon, forever linked but forever beyond each other's reach. This reminds me of the perils of those "Dear John" letters that soldiers received while away at war. Life moves on even when one is fighting for the freedom's that life provides.

Another poignant piece of writing from your reality dipped quill. Emotional and powerful work.
