Tempting fate/ the rain

Tempting fate/ the rain

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

Just words.

"
                             Tempting fate
I am walking in the rain, the cold March rain upon my rain.
I am walking away from place of love turn black.
I left a lady crying and alone.
Our sweet words turned empty and cold.
We became strangers and love became damns and forgotten.
We embraced for the last time at the midnight hour.
Lips upon lips, skin on skin, savoring the last memory.
Once we were blessed with a holy love and we forgot.
Love is a garden. Need attention and two people locking the doors,
keeping the greedy world away.
The March rain upon my face, hiding my tears.
I pray to the sleeping God.
Take me back to where I was.
I want her, I want her hand and my hand holding tightly.
I want us to know love again.
The cold rain teaches us.
Words hurt and locked doors of emotions cannot be open again.
I should of locked the doors and held her till we could have found forgiveness.

Your poems are not "just words" I love how powerful they are.
My favorite lines; "I left a lady crying and alone.
Our sweet words turned empty and cold.
We became strangers and love became damns and forgotten."
I feel the heaviness and sadness of this poem.

Long after they have been read, your words remain so very often present.. surely a gift and surely the hallmark of one who can write.... N

Still got that touch Coyote, no doubt about it. Is there a Native American coursing through that pen of yours cause I can hear it chanting. I don't think I could write without the history of mine. The "Cold rain" does indeed teach us" every step is a gift to be honored... the rest of it is our responsibility and honor that we must earn and follow just as the coyote does and you have honed this quite well..thank you for sharing.

Forgiveness is so much better than severance. If only there were more chances to make things better, to hold on to those we love. Sadly, the river flows only one way and time doesn’t turn back. All that’s left is regret. Amazing words from you!

It was a pleasure Coyote!
Even tho' we need it badly, the negative connotation of rain nicely compliments the ending of a romance
Nicely written

A very symbolic title, Coyote....

Rain does indeed symbolise negative experiences and emotions and such is the case here in this write. I particularly liked the self reflective thoughts that you conclude the piece with; acknowledging where your mistakes were made and what you would have done if you had that time over again. Conflict between lovers is an inevitable part of a relationship, but sometimes it takes a greater strength to admit one is wrong, give an apology and hope for forgiveness. It is better to do that than live with regrets later in life.

I enjoyed the write. Written from experience for all of us to learn from, as painful as your experience was personally for you. Fine work.

To our bitter disappointment, we often discover we simply can't go home again.
There is--or, may be--a point at which we might recover what we're losing, but it seems to be fleeting and precariously placed.
Heart-breaker, Coyote!
