I am going home

Good song and some words.

I am going home

 

Soldier boy, the running man.

Received a phone call in the Winter of 1991,

Grandpa is gone,

he loved you and he missed you.

He told his kind sister,

I am coming home,

he hung the phone-up,

he felt the Iraq heat on his face and soft tears begin to fall.

Three months later,

holding a steel container with a blessed name upon her.

He learn,

he had everything once,

love near,

great mentors and he whispered a prayer.

I miss you my kind friend and I am home now.

Please save a seat in heaven for me,

please forgive me seeking escape when I should of been seeking home.

dear John... I am married to a Veteran of a foreign war...
He was fortunate to survive. When he meets other Veterans, he always says,
"Thank you for your Service". Many have passed among "Poppy fields" on foreign soil...
we do think of them every day and we owe them our respect and gratitude.
They fought for the freedoms our Constitution affords. We should remember
how many have sacrificed for those Freedoms that we sometimes take for granted.
