Lullabye

Lullabye

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
"

Amazing and beautiful singer. Please listen.

"
                         Lullabye
Did we lie?
Did we love?
Did we forget?
--------------------------------------------------------
Once love inferno,
became water down love.
Our warm bed, became cold.
----------------------------------------------------------
I sang lullabye of forever once upon a time,
we believed in forever.
Now quiet hush had overtook the lonely bed.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Longing and belonging, we knew.
We painted perfect sea,
we create a canvas of everlasting beauty.
---------------------------------------------------------------
Who forgot? Who can remember?
Did we foresee the seclusion?
Was our lullabyes, just brushstroke of words
to entice the sleeping heart?

A sad understanding of life and love—when what we think will soar forever ends up coming to land before we are ready.

Your poem offers the ache of realization where the crash becomes the primary feeling after we realize forever is not as easily attainable as we once believed it to be.

This is a lovely poem of longing and reaching, Coyote. Even with knowing this may be the end, perhaps love remains worth pursuing for the bright moments that can always be remembered.

Excellent musical share! This poem brings to mind the way we think we know all about the life we've lived, but as life goes on, we find out more & more how little we understood about what we were doing, what we were going thru, & upon later reflection, so many more meanings become apparent, but it's too late to act on our new understandings, except to just look back on life in many different ways (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Gee
Tis amazing how big and lonely a bed becomes when it is no longer shared by the one we love. Regrets then become what we "cuddle" as we drift off into fitful sleep.
Much longing and regret in these words.

dearest John... your poetry reflects love as brush strokes of
colors and moods when visions of affection were seen in backgrounds of
musical seductions. A dance that never ends. truly, Pat

I agree dear Pat. This song is perfect poetry. Make your heart bleed.
Hmm oftentimes I wonder the same with my situation. And this kind of hit home in that tiny section of my life. Is this the grief & loss of love? or that the thing we thought we might end up with the label of immortality is just a phase? and why must we always seem to go back to those moments instead of having to continue it without looking back to it again? Either way, this is still lovely despite the melancholia
