The Lover, A Soldier prayer.

A Poem by Coyote Poetry
Soldier goes off to War. Need kind and sweet memories to keep them human.”

                     The Lover (A soldier prayer)…

 
Poor boys and men.
Their roads lead to War.

 
Young woman with a  sweet smile.
Wearing silk dress,
smelling like sweet flowers.

 
She whispered,  “Let’s dance tonight.
You shall go to War and 
tonight we need to create photos for the heart. 
Memories to keep you warm when you are lonely and afraid.”

 
Young man brought the sweet Angel close and.
he whispered kind words of love and thankfulness.

 
Soldier stand alone,
Cleans his M-16 A2 rifle.
Death is all around him.

 
He closes his eyes,
he remembered.
The smell of flowers and
the feel of her silk dress.

 
The sweet smile of his love.

 
Keeps him human.

Those special moments must keep a soldier going when there is chaos and death all around him. Difficult to contemplate what a soldier might have to endure during war time. Surrounded by carnage and death, not knowing if or when they would get home. Those memories of love worth more than gold. Good to read you Coyote.

I can't begin to imagine what these guys and men go thru or have gone thru. To have created memories and cling to them so tightly and call upon them When they need it the most. Just to be able to go on and keep doing what they have to. Remember why they're doing it for. Thank you for sharing this ❣️
