Two short poems

June-days poetry number two.

                   Two short poems..

You left me a unpaid debt,

that must be kept.

Once you promised me everything.

Now you have besieged my heart and

I am willing to love you,

forever and a day.

And I will owe you everything I have.

Beneath the willow tree,

we shared a kiss.

You and I swayed with the midnight gentle wind.

We held tight embrace for the Summer moon.

I told her, all I have is verse and prose to give to you.

She smiled and she whispered.

A poet love, I shall be.

And I demand a million words of praise,

to be never forgotten in story or tale,

till the sky fall into the sea.

Cleverly worded first poem, John... the debt of love offered and then, warmly re-paid.

Second poem: a loving woman who 'only' wanted loving words wrapped in admiring story form. And all that until the impossible happens. Reads to be a very happy future!
